Which charging service offers the best coverage? Which provides the best charging rate for me? Which charging service allows me to charge abroad cheaply?
The market for public charging infrastructure still needs more transparency from the end customer’s point of view.
In Europe, there are a large number of charging station operators ( so-called CPOs¹ ), some with highly regional structures, as well as comparatively small charging networks and charging services
¹CPO = Charge Point Operator
²MSP = Mobility Service Provider
( so-called MSPs² ) that give customers access to the charging networks of the charging station operators.
The charging services are either provided to the customer by the manufacturer when the vehicle is purchased, or the electric vehicle owner has to research the various offers on the market themselves.
The E-Mobility Excellence benchmark compares these charging services’ market coverage, the number of connected charging points, and their tariff models. When choosing a suitable charging service, customers are often faced with non-transparent and non-comparable information.
